Sting Bug Eggs: Where Do Stink Bugs Lay Eggs and What Do They Look Like?

As temperatures warm up, stink bugs start making their way out of hiding and into our homes. While adult stink bugs are easy to spot, stink bug eggs can be trickier to find.
Do Stink Bugs Lay Eggs?
Yes, they do! In fact, stink bugs can lay hundreds of eggs during their lifetime, especially during the warmer months. They are most active in spring and summer when they search for places to lay eggs.
Once laid, these eggs hatch into young stink bugs called nymphs, which eventually grow into adults and continue the cycle.
What Do Stink Bug Eggs Look Like?
Stink bug eggs are tiny but recognizable once you know what to look for. They are barrel-shaped and usually laid in clusters of 20 to 30. Their color can range from light green to white or yellow, depending on the species and how close they are to hatching. Stink bug eggs look very similar to many other kinds of insect eggs including both pest and beneficial species.
Where Do Stink Bugs Lay Eggs?
Stink bugs usually lay their eggs on the underside of leaves, so look in leafy areas in your garden, landscaping and around your yard. You will most often find them stuck tightly to the underside of those leaves.

If stink bugs find their way indoors, they can become a real nuisance, especially during the fall when they look for a warm place to spend the winter. You can easily see them crawling around on walls and other surfaces or just sitting still.
If you spot stink bugs in the house, you can vacuum them up or wrap them tightly in a paper towel and dispose of them. If you have stink bugs in large numbers around your home or see signs of stink bug eggs, it's best to contact a licensed pest control professional to handle the situation. They can help inspect your property and offer effective solutions.
