World Health Day
FAIRFAX, Va. (April 7, 2014) – Today is World Health Day, and this year the World Health Organization is raising awareness specifically for vector-borne diseases. These are diseases spread to humans from other organisms such as mosquitoes, ticks, and rodents.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the most common vector-borne diseases in the United States are Lyme disease, West Nile virus, and Rocky Mountain spotted fever.
