Snake Sighting in Spring

FAIRFAX, Va. (May 12, 2014) – Warm weather brings everyone out of their homes and into the sun – including wildlife pests. Snakes emerge in the spring to mate, so they may be a more common sight for homeowners.

While snakes do help control other pests such as mice, rats and squirrels, it is not easy for the average person to distinguish between venomous and non-venomous snake species.

To avoid contact with snakes, use caution when walking in wooded areas and parks.
