FAIRFAX, Va. (January 7, 2013) – During the winter season, rodents such as mice and rats seek shelter indoors from the cold weather. As a result, it’s not a surprise that these pests have been making headlines across the country in recent weeks. To prevent rodents from making their way inside the home, the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) recommends installing screens over chimney vents and openings, sealing cracks on the outside of the home, and storing firewood at least 20 feet from the home.
