Rodents Can Nest Anywhere

FAIRFAX, Va. (April 29, 2014) – Many people have heard of rodents nesting in homes or even the plumbing of a home, but how about literally under the street?

An 8-square-foot sinkhole appeared in a road in Fredericksburg, VA where a rodent was nesting. The critter apparently gnawed through an old sewer line in the process.

Rodent infestations are sometimes associated with construction in the area, which displaces the animals and forces them to find other means of shelter. This could lead to an increased number of rats on the street or in nearby buildings.
