Mosquitoes Still a Health Risk
FAIRFAX, Va. (October 11, 2013) – Although in some areas of the country it is time to bring out boots and a jacket, some summer pests may still be lingering. Mosquito populations have not completely died off yet, and they won’t until the first frosts of the winter.
Even in early fall, there is a risk that mosquitoes transfer West Nile virus or EEE to humans. If you are spending time outdoors camping or doing other fall activities, be sure to wear insect repellent with DEET.
