Invasive Ants Crazy About Southern Weather

FAIRFAX, Va. (March 30, 2014) – In recent years, the ‘Crazy ant’ has been spreading through Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi, and they are predicted to emerge again soon as these areas experience warmer spring weather.

Crazy ants are known to spread quicker than fire ants, another pest in southern states.  They are also very destructive to electrical equipment whereas fire ants are mostly a problem because of their painful sting.
