Firewood Pests

FAIRFAX, Va. (January 9, 2014) – The polar vortex has homeowners turning up the heat any way they can. Those who use firewood need to take extra precautions to prevent invading pests.

Termites and carpenter ants often make their homes in outdoor wood piles and can easily hitch a ride indoors on a log. To best prevent an infestation, check logs for pests before bringing them inside and limit the amount of wood kept in the garage to what will be used within a day.
