Snow Could Send Rodents Indoors

Across the country, chilly temperatures have forced more than
just people inside to snuggle by the fire. Rodents including mice, rats and
squirrels are known to seek food, water and shelter in homes during
the winter months. Unfortunately, more
bad weather could be on the way, especially on the east coast
where snow is expected to fall this weekend, and that means rodents
will be swiftly searching for warmth indoors before the storm
hits.
Rodents often find refuge by entering structures through small
cracks and crevices. However, once inside these pests can cause
serious property damage and spread diseases. As a result, the
National Pest Management Association (NPMA) is encouraging
homeowners to take
proactive measures and remain vigilant of the signs of a rodent
infestation like finding dropping around the home or hearing
scurrying noises.
If a rodent infestation is suspected, it’s best to contact a
licensed pest professional to effectively identify and treat the
problem.
