Keep Nuisance Wildlife From Becoming Unwelcome Houseguests

Across the country, cool weather is forcing more than just
people to move indoors. Nuisance wildlife such as raccoons and squirrels
are also seeking food, water and shelter in homes this fall
season.
Fortunately, there are steps homeowners can take to prevent
pests from coming indoors on firewood, foliage and family pets,
or from gaining entry through small cracks and crevices in a home’s
exterior.
To deter these unwelcome houseguests, the National Pest
Management Association encourages homeowners to install door sweeps
on exterior doors and repair damaged screens. In addition, it’s
important to screen vents and openings to chimneys, and keep
attics, basements and crawl spaces well ventilated and dry.
