First Frost Brings Mosquito Relief

Mosquitoes have plagued many areas of the country for months, not only delivering itchy bites, but in several cases - diseases such as West Nile virus.

Fortunately, with colder weather comes the end of mosquito season. A region’s first frost is generally a good signal that mosquitoes in the area are dead. These insects thrive during the warm, wet seasons and can’t survive low temperatures very well.
