NEW ALBANY, IN - The city of New Albany is taking a proactive
approach in preventing a bed bug outbreak in public housing.
Friday, special bed bug sniffing dogs were brought in to search the
Mark Elrod Tower, a senior public housing unit.
Housing officials said they have not seen any major problems, but
they want to stay ahead of the problem.
The search costs the city $10 for every unit the dogs search, plus
the cost to treat an area if bed bugs are found.
