Ken,

Thanks for commenting on our spring pest podcast. Perhaps you are looking for the definition of "vector", or "disease vector" as we discuss it.

A pest disease vector is essentially a pest that can transmit a certain disease to humans. Ticks, therefore, are a disease vector of Lyme Disease.
